STC Trans European Technical Communications Competition The Olympus E-1 camera simulation, together with our advanced tutorial system, received an Award of Excellence and the Best of Show Award at the STC Trans European Technical Communications Competition 2004: “The tutorial is outstanding in the way it provides instructions and invites you to 'use' the camera. The idea of going from a straight 'What is it?' to a tutorial with such ease is terrific. The entry shows a great deal of originality - a most appealing and original tutorial.” |

PersonalJava Contest A car stereo simulation developed at Robert Bosch GmbH became the only European finalist at the PersonalJava Contest 1998 from Sun Microsystems: Jens Ehrke's Virtual Radio nearly won the PersonalJava contest by simply being about the coolest thing the judges had ever seen. The simulation offers a stunningly realistic interface that McCarthy accurately described as “absolutely gorgeous.” Jellinek said: “Its use of animation, sound, and touch-screen style input, along with its elegant bilingual German/English help, make it one of the coolest applications I've seen in a long time. Everyone I've shown it to has been impressed with its style and polish.” |
